The survey results, which were released in the week before National Indigenous Peoples Day, suggest 79 per cent of Canadians believe Indigenous participation in the economy helps "strengthen the country's social fabric."
Part of that, the survey's results suggest, includes Canadian corporations helping Indigenous entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level and providing on-going support like training for Indigenous companies. Of those polled, 71 per cent are in favour of those actions. "The fact that Canadians expect the private sector to step up with action to help Indigenous entrepreneurs sends a powerful message to decision makers."
Jonathan Kruger, director of Indigenous relations for Sodexo Canada, told CTV News Vancouver the survey results were "a really nice surprise."
Agree fully and only problem seems to be they have major dollars given to them to being a normal start up competitor! Fishing Industry help of $500 Million start up and Help with offshore fishery! General public concern is not paying taxes as a fair competitor! Will eventually ?
CTVAtlantic It shouldn't take a need for healing to have people support Indigenous business, or small businesses in general. Good businesses should receive support without peoples guilt guiding them.
I’m confused on why people aren’t investing into reservation businesses. They’re always crazy profitable ( anything is when you don’t pay taxes lol ) and it’s nice to have new gas stations and services along the highways etc.
$$$$$ heals lol
Pretty dam sure ALL small businesses need our support right now. I don’t give a shit what colour, or what/who they identify as, they all need support.
CTVAtlantic Fake news
I do all the time.
Can we get China vaccines here?
A survey of less then 1600 Canadians is representative of the entire nation? When did you lower our expectations to bottom rung?
Landback is Indigenous business
