There are now more job openings in Britain than unemployed people

The shortage is most acute in London and the south-east. For Mortadella, a chain of three south London restaurants, one of which has just opened, it is “a bit of a scramble”, according to Sam Andrews, the group’s executive head chef. “All three places will be understaffed.”

Firms complaining of a problem finding workers is hard to square with the official labour-market data. According to the Office for National Statistics , the unemployment rate was 4.9% in February, up by around a percentage point on a year before, and that number may be an underestimate, as the pandemic has made collecting the data harder. Other measures of the jobs market tracked by thepoint to a sharper spike in joblessness.

Call the Poles back 🤭

Article, May 15th I think UK has by now realised its not a staff shortage, it’s an inflation problem.

There are lots of undocumented people in the UK who would love an opportunity to work and pay taxes. We should give them an opportunity before bringing more people from abroad!

बृटेनमा बेरोज़गारको वृद्धि ऋणात्मक भएछ brexit कै कारणले होला र ?

Soon, the west will be begging Africa to send workers. That is when we should say, 'Oh, now we are welcome?'

No excuses for the unemployed anymore then really is there.

Why work when there is ridiculously easy credit?

No thanks
