The Rivers State council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said 2022 will not be business as usual if the state government continues to ignore

The state Chairman of the NLC, Beatrice Itubo, made the threat in an interview in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Itubo said the union will be ready to take any action decided by workers without looking back to press home their demands Some of the demands of the workers include payment of gratuities for retired workers, employment of workers as well as promotion of existing workers.“The workers are already becoming restive and I will continue to listen to them. Whatever they tell me, any action they ask me to take be rest assured that I will take it and we will take to the level that nobody will even imagine”.

“So I’m using this medium to demand from the government that they should pay gratuities, pension arrears and promote workers and even employ workers, the system is empty go to schools. Go to schools there are no people in the schools. Go to hospital and health centers there are no workers,” she said.
