one of the four candidates in the running

She was one of the first women judges on the Eastern Cape High Court, the first black woman on the Supreme Court of Appeal and the first woman Deputy President. Justice Maya was born in 1964 in rural Eastern Cape. She worked as a court interpreter and prosecutor before joining the Women’s Legal Defence in Washington DC. She deserves the job not because she the woman unlike those evil men who compromised our judiciary and use it to fight their personal battles.

Ir would a disaster for the already compromised judiciary if Cyrils close friends Zondo or Dunstan Mlabo CJ. People will lose all trust in the judiciary. MandisaMaya seems the best candidate not becos she's a woman but becos she's not involved in corruption. MorningLiveSABC

We deserve an uncompromised and dignified CJ,I pray to God she gets that position.

Will be history, First Female Chief Justice

She is deserving and qualified

I wish she get elected

she already looks bought by the ANC

Kanti labafazi ababi kanjena bathathwaphi ngempela 🙄

She will be overlooked because of her gender, someone less experienced than her will be appointed.

unfortunately for her this thing is already taken by Zondo and his deputy is mlambo

We need more Madonselas up there....

Anyone but Zondo

She deserves it. I sincerely want her in. But i also believe that DCJ Zondo should be allowed to finish his stint at the CC as the CJ. It'll nicely close the chapter of DCJ who've been overlooked for CJ appointments since 1994. It will also nicely annoying RET & their EFF pals

It's not about gender but competence. Let the best win whether men or women.

Which faction is he in?
