NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has joined the Tories in pushing the federal government for an exit plan out of the COVID-19 pandemic. cndpoli

Pressure is mounting on the federal government to end its COVID-19 mandates and restrictions — including for travel, which Canada’s tourism sector says are now obsolete.

While travelling poses a risk of infection, the risk is the same when not travelling, said Zain Chagla, an infectious-diseases doctor and associate professor at McMaster. Molecular tests are more reliable than rapid tests, which can be bought at drugstores for around $30. The party used Thursday’s opposition day to debate its motion requesting that the government “table a plan for the lifting of all federal mandates and restrictions” by the end of the month.Earlier this week, Quebec Liberal MP Joël Lightbound broke rank by criticizing his party’s stance on vaccine mandates, saying it undermines the public’s trust in health care.

There is misinformation in this article. Some quick research will show many of the those countries you mentioned are not lifting mandates. They are requiring people to be vaccinated to do to their country.

Perhaps he should ask the virus what it has planned first, so they can get a firm grasp of the timelines. A clue as to when and where the next variant appears and how transmissible it is would be appreciated. eyeroll

Jagmeet Singh has been imitating the Conservatives gutter politics for a while now. They simply won't learn, it didn't work for Thomas Mulcair, it didn't work for Jagmeet in the last two elections and it sure as hell isn't working for you now.

The mandates & lock-outs are provincial,. Why are the Feds expected to rule on them? The only Fed mandate is at the border, preventing unvaxxed visitors from entering Canada. The reciprocal US mandate, preventing the unvaxxed from entering the USA will stay.

Tone deaf to Ottawa & other cities in crisis because of ranting anti-science, anti-everything loons. Tone deaf to doctors under great duress. That’s it. I’m done with NDP.

No surprise, here. Singh has been kissing the Conservatives’ asses since before the 2019 election. He is no better than Candice Bergen at this stage. He might as well wear a MAGA cap.

If we relax everything and we get hit with another variant then what? It makes no sense to wind down to wind back up again. We need several months a worldwide deceleration before we can give a date on anything.

What the hell is wrong with that man?

Not that Singh actually made any helpful suggestions or proposals. As usual, just self-serving noise.

Jagmeet Singh is the greatest asset the conservatives ever had!

Jurisdictionally confused, as usual.

Just like Singh to ask AFTER the fact. He times these things to fool his supporters into thinking they're his ideas. And his supporters fall for it every damned time. cdnpoli

He’d better be carefulsiding with CPC, complicity comes to mind. And if he thinks he can work with them for policies to NDP liking he is deeply mistaking! cdnpoli

And I want the pandemic to be over, so? Wishful thinking is not a plan.

Obviously they do not have a clue about science. The pandemic is a changing event. All they need to know is that as things will involve the science should dictate a plan. More people vaccinated, the more supports can be withdrawn. Mr. Singh is just a political opportunist.

Are they planning to negotiate this exit with the virus?
