Target announced Monday that it is raising its starting wage for hourly workers in some positions to up to $24.

Target announced Monday that it is raising its starting wage for workers in some positions to up to $24.

Target in 2020 set its minimum wage at $15. That will remain in place, but Target said some workers will qualify for higher starting pay based on the nature of their job and the prevailing competitive wages in their local market. Under the plan, Target's hourly employees who work a minimum average of 25 hours a week will be eligible to enroll in a company medical plan. That's down from the previous requirement of 30 hours per week.

Warning Target Shoppers: Yesterday, this deal: $15 Target GiftCard with $50 Household Essentials - is another screw job in Target stores. We purchased $59.50 in items that would have applied GiftCard online, but when purchased in store, we left with nothing!

how about they give everyone a raise? the rich stay rich.. the poor get richer. the middle class is always forgotten.. this is not fair

Infamoussss

Prices will rise as well. Itll be worth nothing in no time.

Finbox: About 1.09% of Target 2021 profit. Average annual Target employee pay $24,535. of Target employees 409,000. Assuming investment to be dispersed over 1 yr: $300,000,000/409,000= $733.50 each. In 2020 CEO made 805 times average employee.

They’ll be no more Target soon!!!

howradical you were born in the wrong decade

Our firefighter should get higher pay

“Some jobs”… “starting wages”… hmmm let’s see exactly what this means.

Some positions up to.

this story is being posted all over twitter repeatedly by all local media I guess we don't have a war or covid or any major things happening in this country $24 target is the breaking news

I bought a item target for 1.67 less then cvspharmacy yesterday for a small personal item. So IF they do raise prices they still won’t come close to others 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can’t wait for professional minimum wage Target employe to speak at my elementary school kid’s career day.

So now that $10 item will be $15. Remember people companies will always pass that cost on. These are entry level jobs that should pay accordingly.

Lousy services, Target in the Glenda mall is the worst.

That's good news..

What I am hearing is $24 is for the high tech jobs. Anyone Getting a Pay raise there either GETS LESS hours or gets their benefits CUT... IF you are working for TARGET you are like a Walmart employee. yee haw

I don't want to read the article. What are the 'some jobs'?

Wow, I wanna go and work for them!!

Checked out and bagged my own at target today, along w 3 others. The person who worked there watched us. Wtf?!

Always good to read between the lines

This won’t affect prices at all 😂😂

Good job!

Still doesn’t replace full time or reliable part time with benefits. People need to know they’ll be scheduled enough hours per week. What happened to the flex-regular positions Target? Part time with benefits got me through college in the 80s and early 90s.

'some positions' aka not you

How are we goi g to afford shopping there. Starting wages for some nurses are lower

Reading all these folks complain about people earning more money shows why corporations win. Tribal wars between those that have less makes Wallstreet stronger.

$24 an hour is the new $6 per hour because of the inflation and gas prices. This was predicted. This is Joe Biden America.

With their prices on merchandise they'll be able to afford it. 👍

Awesome more uneducated people.kids won’t go to college. They are always looking for a quick buck

Wow

But the people will need a 2nd job, target will only offer max 20hrs a week

Crazy. Just because I told them I had fast food experience which has customer service and stated I worked with construction they wouldn’t even call me for an interview to push carts. What’s it take to get hired here I was down for any type of work

And the price of milk will be $7.00 a gallon at Target.

Does anyone know which positions specifically pay $24/h ?

Yes just add to inflation. The price of the store merchandise will have to go up.

See this bs Jaay2wice

I bet you it’s for the managers...

As it needs to be and long overdue. Pleased that Target steps up. That’s why I shop there. 🎯

That’s almost like paying fast food restaurant crews $25 an hour at Panda Express.

Does that include the fake Pizza Hut position Derectdeposit

How? Who

They are adding self-checkout while closing check-out lanes with employees. I’d think that will eliminate quite a few employment positions.

Disney need to follow if they haven’t already

Do they require vaccine?

Inflation no not at all.

Yeah district managers

why can’t amazon raise their wage up?

Now the degree jobs are underpaid…

I’m all for this but I will say that this isn’t much less than I make as a nurse in Southern California. The entire system needs to adjust to the cost of living!

24.00 to be a manager if you have a degree lol not just your first job and no education

WoW It's going to hit us consumers BIG Time!!!

jenalynn96 no way

Well done Target 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Damn.. about to pay more then professional job pays. Going have pay strike from across sectors soon.

cryptoggus Jesus inflation about to get real

Get to it Walmart

Should I be going back to work at Target what the fuck 🥴🥴🥴

Parent: What do you want to be when you grow up? A doctor? A lawyer? Kid: I want to work at Target for minimum wage. goals
