The African National Congress (ANC) has announced that the nomination process for the National Executive Committee, ANC top leadership and other leadership structures, will be opened from August 2022, after the National Policy Conference of the party.

ANC national spokesperson, Pule Mabe says they will not tolerate the tendencies of both ANC members and leaders to publicly announce their preferred candidates for leadership roles in the ANC.

“According to the 55th National Conference road map, nomination for the NEC by branches will start in August 2022 after the National Policy Conference,” says Mabe.Early this year, Eastern Cape African National Congress Chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane, also took a swipe at people sowing divisions within the party.

The Eastern Cape is set to have its provincial conference and indications are that the position of the provincial Chairperson will be highly contested.
