JOHOR BARU: Printing companies have been busy fulfilling orders for banners and flags from political parties in the Johor election.

Orders had been coming in non-stop even before nomination day on Feb 26, said Percetakan Bumi Restu Sdn Bhd director Muhammed Farhan Basheer Ahamed.

“We have all kinds of logos from various political parties in our shop. They have also ordered campaign items like booklets, banners and flyers. “There is so much work to be fulfilled that I don’t have enough manpower to catch up with demand,” he said when contacted.“Our shop in Larkin has the capacity to print more than 50,000 banners a day, so we have been printing non-stop since the election started.

“My biggest issue is finding locals who want to take up jobs as printing operators because this is the kind of job that locals don’t find ‘attractive’ and we are forced to rely on foreign workers,” he said.Usahawan.com Johor branch manager Mohd Nadzreen Tamrin said he received 5,000 orders for button badges last Sunday.
