PETALING JAYA: Independent mixed doubles shuttler Shevon Lai Jemie is up in arms over fake news.

Speaking on behalf of several players, Shevon hoped the badminton fans will not believe all that is written on social media, especially on one particular website where the player’s net worth of between US$1.5mil and US$5mil was highlighted. They also listed Ng Tze Yong as worth US$2.29mil , Lee Zii Jia US$4mil , S. Kisona US$1.5mil and even coach Teo Kok Siang is on the list with a net worth of US$1.5mil . There were no breakdowns on how these players had earned their money.

The website had listed most of the Malaysian players, including their backgrounds, career paths and even some personal details.“There is this fake site which none of us know where it is from, citing that almost all the badminton players, even our juniors and coaches, have a net worth of US$1.

“We were trying to ask for help here in Switzerland, so someone Googled our names, and saw our names in this site.
