Reuters on Monday reported that the company’s heads of technology and product development had quit their top roles less than two months after the site launched.

Two executives working for former President Donald Trump’s social networking site Truth Social have quit their lead roles,reported Monday, as shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp , the special purpose acquisition company that has said it plans to take Trump’s company public, dropped more than 10 percent at the market open....

The report came as shares of DWAC — which is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission for reportedly holding talks with Trump before it went public last year — haveAdams and Boozer joined Trump’s social media efforts last year and played a central role in the app’s development, according to Reuters.a self-imposed March 31 deadline to be “fully operational,” with more than a million prospective users stuck on a wait list.

The executives’ departures could impede the company’s progress and ability to compete with more mainstream social media platforms including Twitter, two people familiar with the company told Reuters. Trump’s company behind Truth Social, Trump Media & Technology Group , did not return a request for comment from Forbes.“If Josh has left… all bets are off,” one person with knowledge of Truth Social’s activities said about Adams, whom the source called the “brains” behind the app’s technology, Reuters reported.
