Ireland would not have been ready to host the 2024 America’s Cup sailing competition until at least 2025 and probably the year after, ministers were told earlier this year. Department of Sport officials reviewing the since-abandoned bid concluded that “hosting in 2024 is not possible and that even an extension to 2025 is laden with risk and most likely to not be deliverable”.Subscribe from just €1 for the first month!
