Bafana Bafana coach, HugoBroos says the country has to work on producing quality players who ply their trade in big leagues for the senior national football team’s fortunes to improve.

14 June 2022, 6:16 PM |Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos says the country has to work on producing quality players who ply their trade in big leagues for the senior national football team’s fortunes to improve. The Belgian mentor has called on all football stakeholders including the Premier Soccer League coaches and his employer, the South African Football Association to work together to find a solution.

Broos has laid bare challenges faced by anyone trying to achieve success with the senior national team just a week after it lost to Morocco. That the country does not produce players of a quality to compete with big football nations on the continent let alone in the world, is an open secret. Broos says that with, Bafana can’t be expected to be world beaters.

But it’s curious that the Belgian opened up about what needs to happen just a week before SAFA’s elections are held. He says he can’t solve the problems alone and his attempts to meet with PSL coaches have been unsuccessful.

Funny that SAFA still employs a foreign coach when we all know that not a single country has ever won a World Cup coached by a foreign coach. Perhaps we think we will be the first country to do just that like we were the first host to fail to make it past group stage in 2010.

100% true. Remove 90% of foreigners (by birth) from the league. A team should play Only 2 foreigners a game. A foreigner in our league must be playing for the national team, so that they bring quality to our league and our players more game time

At least u are the first coach to say the truth about our problem in Bafana Bafana,is exactly what we lack. Top leagues will give our players discipline, strength, good diet and more ambitions.

If he don't want the job then he should resign, he knew when he took the job he would be reporting to Hitler

Lelikhehla likhuluma i kak, SA inawo ama players ilento yokuthi umuntu ona 31-34yrs kuthiwe mdala siyakha...vision ntoni ntoni

I could see this coming shifting the blame when he (Huggo Bruce) couldn't listen to other people does he mean we (South Africa) don't have players playing abroad that he could call or use if he wanted new blood

Is he a quality Coach? Maybe we need to start there.

For whatever reason this coach has no confidence whatsoever on our national squad, he is there for the sake of being there, may b it's time we relieve him of his duty and find someone else who at least sees some potential in our players, if there is any potential anyway.

The whole punch of true 👍
