Irish actor Ciara O’Callaghan said Jane Seymour is paving the way for women in the industry by still rocking leading roles in her 70s.She told the Irish Mirror: “It’s wonderful to see somebody like Jane Seymour who is in her 70s playing the lead in a show like this, and it gives hope for those of us, you know, still, you know, working our way up there. Yeah, I mean, it’s very inspiring, isn’t it to see that. And fairplay to her. It’s wonderful and more of that, please.
But she noted there’s still a way to go for opportunities for women working in the business, adding: “There’s some really fantastic female-driven dramas now being made that wouldn’t have been made in the past. I mean, you’ve everything like our own Sharon Horgan doing Catastrophe. “All brilliant and all leading. So yeah, it’s wonderful to see that long may it last. And, you know, we’re not fully there yet, but someone like Jane is certainly making waves for all of us.
