Telkom is taking President Cyril Ramaphosa court over his decision to order the Special Investigating Unit to investigate the company's failed investments dating back to 2006, along with accusations about tender irregularities.
The telecommunications company, which is 40% owned by the government, on Monday filed papers with the Pretoria High Court, seeking an order to declare the investigation"unlawful". It argues that Ramaphosa acted"unconstitutionally" when sanctioning the probe he announced in January.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism. Fin24 Oooooh So the plan is to make this State Owned Enterprise look delinquent so that its ok for MTN to buy it... hahaha Cyril & his bosses ne! WOW
DimaMsuthu Fin24 They are state owned. They must account.
Fin24 Something is not right there. Why courts now
Fin24 Why not use the SIU in Eskom then?
Fin24 Gangster state
Fin24 When you want the share price to drop so you can buy cheap shares
Fin24 What are they hiding?
Fin24 If MTN buys Telkom we need to shutdown the country.
Fin24 'Telkom is taking...', this is like 'my car is taking action due to it's pothole related damages'. The individual(s) need to pay out of their pocket when (not if) the lose the case.
Fin24 * to court.... Peanuts
Fin24 Ramaphosa is conflicted in this issue since he is share holder of MTN and MTN has keen interest in buying off Telkom which Ramaphosa stands to benefit.
Fin24 Banana Masepa Megwete ya bona
Fin24 Cyril is a Mafia, he uses his power as the President to advance his business interest. I hate this man with a passion😡
Fin24 This is a warning shot to Thabo Mbeki by Ramaphosa.
Fin24 Makunyiwe.. kudala iSubmarine ihamba abantu ngaphansi.. Ppl don't know how much submarining he's been doing and then abantu bashayisana ngamakhanda bese uza njengomuntu oketga iSolution kanti wuye umdali wey'nkinga..
Fin24 The plan is to destroy Telkom and sell it to MTN. Ramaphosa is the sales man nothing else but a mere sales man of state own enterprises.
Fin24 Instead of going after Telkom which provides PROPER PROPER PROPER SERVICE , Go after that Money-Pit of a 'State-Entity' called Esk**m , And let's not get into tenders Bro.
Fin24 Ramaphosa is the first president to refused workers salary increase but Cosatu is quite only preoccupied by ANC squabbles
Fin24 Man must jst buy telkom with his friends, why harrasing them wth state organs or maybe Telkom awufuni ukudayiswa.
Fin24 Our problem in Africa is that we don't have big money that can decide who becomes president. You can't attack business and continue to rule
Fin24 He banna!
Fin24 Interesting....we shall see.
Fin24 Attack him TelkomZA . Hr angry that your data is affordable compared to MTNza
Fin24 TelkomZA is just using Zuma’s technique of stalling the investigation. They know it must happen…
Fin24 Bathong?
Fin24 The Ankole is on steroids
Fin24 There is no smoke without fire
Fin24 Its tence hey
Fin24 Whites are really not happy with this man, they in his ass
Fin24 Try to cancel your contract 🙄🙄
Fin24 Who owns telkom, can a non majority holder take such a decision?
Fin24 Interesting...
Fin24 Corrupt to the core this one
Fin24 This is weird, I know know what South Africa needs.
Fin24 I think Cyril is out here keeping the SIU busy to not investigate him so they dont jeopardize his 2nd term ambitions in Dec
Fin24 Why is Cyril attacking TelkomZA
Fin24 What has the Minister of Public Enterprises to say about a SOE which is his responsibility taking him and his boss, the President, to court?
Fin24 😳🙆♀️Everyone is against me even phones🙄
Fin24 Clearly you should allow SIU to complete it's investigations first. What are you hiding?
Fin24 Preparing for MTN Takeover of Telkom. Those who resist will be arrested. Power Games.
Fin24 start with MTN
Fin24 The money launderer is unleashing SIU on Telkom in order to force the MTN takeover
Fin24 So let’s put this in perspective. Parastatal (bankrupt) under investigation for having been looted into corrupt ineptitude and bankruptcy wages to sue the state president for investigation of that corrupt looting! 🤣😂
Fin24 A tainted Telkom is much cheaper for MTN to buy its assets: Hostile takeover (corporate mafia)
Fin24 This country is a crime spree everywhere, why afraid of investigations if not found wanting 🤭🤭
Fin24 Ramaphosa must order investigation into MTN and his corruption
Fin24 Cyril must just go back into Apartheid regime era and instruct some investigation to be conducted, at the rate things are going.
Hlabirwa_Lifa Fin24 So many properties Telkom. Why?
Fin24 If Telkom has nothing to hide why do they take the President to court? Surely SIU will investigate and if there's nothing sinister SIU will find nothing. So why worry?
Fin24 The take over of Telkom has begun like eskom Cyril's handlers are not playing WMC doesn't play with power.
Fin24 The investigation is a process to make sure that by the time MTN take over, the asset will be at zero and pay only R51. He he he sebenza Rams, Sebenza Mcebisi Jonas. Wenqaba 6m waMaGupta to do this. Nofa nizilanda🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Fin24 Very simple, scare investers then telkom shares will crumble and fall. Weaker shares performance means less to pay for a take over. Telkom shares will be weaker meaning less money to be paid for buying telkom
Fin24 The same Ramaphosa didn't want Glencore to pay Eskom penalty fees.
LandNoli Fin24 So Telkom want to interdict a criminal investigation? Let’s how the courts deal with this.
Fin24 SIU said whistle blowers register the complain then the office of justice motivate the president only sign the proclamations so Telkom can go to coury if there's corruption you wont hide just like Lotto they tried the same 🤞
Fin24 Cyril will never rest he will rot in he!! that one for what he did
Fin24 Who is or was Telkom in 2006 till now?… What happened exactly?… Wouldn’t the public protector tackle this one, because it was meant us right? “ The under privileged” 🤔…
Fin24 They won't win. Ramaphosa has the judiciary
Fin24 Please investigate Telkom. Telkom is stealing money every month from us, yet your contract was cancelled 4 months ago! They are thieves.
Fin24 Why not start b4 2006? It’d be more convincing if he started from 1994 when the ANC took over. Clearly his mandate is to destroy the ANC but he is gunning for specific individuals when the whole party is just rotten. While at it, SIU must investigate his businesses too. Cyril
Fin24 Bwahaha the thieves are revolting
Fin24 PhalaPhalaFarm
Fin24 Aibo loTata guys - Why we not taking him to court for all his cases?!
Fin24 Is Telkom not in the same category as ESKOM in terms of state ownership. I am lost
Fin24 Anything to hide
Fin24 Thank you Telkom I am joining you 🏃♀️🏃♀️
Fin24 Telkom was better when was still roaming with MTN Vodacom network coverage is worst some CEOs please their bosses on people's expense.
Fin24 VusiSambo summarize the facts please
Fin24 Does TelkomZA have anything to hide
Fin24 Ramaphosa is a liability
Fin24 I heard on the radio that Telkom is a state entity but call and most of revenue is controlled by country Israel 🤔🤔
Fin24 Telkom is a Fup
Fin24 That criminal in the Union Building wants to destroy all the SOEs
Fin24 My life is made 🎉🎉🎉 haven't heard this timeless in a while. Thanks Mrs Brandonkaren11 for help me through your Bitcoins mining investment platform you can start as low as R300
Fin24 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩I'm going to join my advocate and be a lawyer, in mzansi you can make money by looking at loopholes in all government departments contracts, cases, what is Telekom hiding mzansi if their books are clean, bankga lefotha, as public re na le maatla to know our moolah
Fin24 If you have nothing to hide you will welcome such probes. The state is a stake holder. Telkom bears public funds from its originality after all.
Fin24 Why respond like this if you have nothing to hide?
Fin24 you must take what is reported by this propaganda news organization with a pinch of salt not always factual!
Fin24 Why not all SOE's?
Fin24 Telkom , you have been failing your duty to customers now ever since you lost your previous CEO. Your lines are dropping and your backup batteries are failing , welcome to the world of Vodacom.
Fin24 I hear K Telecom in the background.
Fin24 One by one, every single state asset must go! Who stands most to gain? MTN, a company he has a material interest in. His wealth (“blind trust”) is managed by a former MTN CEO.
Fin24 Y r worried that the truth will come out. Sounds fishy 🐟. What r they hiding 🤔
Fin24 They wont win CR17BankStatements
Fin24 If they have nothing to hide why do they fear an investigation? Dissolve this useless Eskom and let companies who what to deliver electricity do so. (Don’t come at me with “you’re speaking from a place of privilege”….I don’t care at the moment)
Fin24 Heban!
Fin24 Yessus. This country runs on legal idiocy
