Did you know that women account for less than 1 in 5 business owners in South Africa. That’s why this Women’s Month, in celebration of the strength, radiance and beauty that we exude as women, we thought we should shine the spotlight onto some of the incredible ‘less than 1 in 5’ women-founded businesses thriving in the makeup industryNot many people can say they founded a cosmetics brand at the tender age of 14. But Rabia Ghoor can., was conceptualised in the midst of her teenage years.

From a four square-meter area in her bedroom. It all began when she discovered Youtube, primarily watching international makeup influencers and channels since there weren’t that many local ones at the time. That is where her motivation to start the brand was born, to accommodate the South African beauty market.

She started out with an Instagram page and two products. It’s safe to say she has more than surpassed her initial expectations. Having won the Forbes Woman Africa Young Achievers award, the range now has more than 20 cosmetic products that can be purchased directly online or in a selected few shops .
