New Crown Paints advert sparks backlash but company insists it's a bit of fun

A controversial advert branded allegedly ‘‘misogynistic’ and ‘derogatory’ has sparked fury across Lancashire.

It's personal' gaslighting comments where they talk about how light hearted it is!!!” “The social responses from Crown Paints seem to suggest that the majority view is in the wrong and that it was all a bit of fun.” Her comments were backed by many on social media.

In a post on Facebook, Crown Paints, which is based in Darwen, said: “Hannah and Dave’s big news has meant a big change to their previously grey spare room. We believe paint can help you change a room, change a mood and even change a life. That’s why, whether you’re moving into a new home, renovating an old one or welcoming a baby into its new nursery, we’re here for you. For us, it’s not just paint, it’s personal.
