Mpumalanga’s Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison has called on communities, faith-based organisations and community police forums to partake in theThe department held a community crime Imbizo at Wesselton in Ermelo where communities have been urged to work closely with the police to bring an end to crime.

This imbizo comes after a learner was stabbed to death at Cebisa Secondary School earlier this month. It is alleged that the incident was gang-related. The Department’s spokesperson Moeti Mmusi says, “We have realised that crime has also become quite rife in this area of Ermelo that’s why amongst other reasons we are bringing the Imbizo here. There were some pre-Imbizo activities whereby the MEC spoke to different groupings – they include faith leaders, the taxi people and the business community.
