In 2021, nationwide new student enrollment in accredited mortuary science programs jumped 24% over 2020, according to the American Board of Funeral Service Education. "There's an urgent need to replace those who have been in the profession for many years and are retiring," he said. "Over 60% of funeral home owners said they will retire in five years. That's a lot."
"There's a big interest in this field from women, and it makes sense.
