The Department of Labor and Employment is anticipating a brief improvement in the labor market in the last quarter of the year as companies ramp up their production in preparation for the Christmas season.
“But after the [Christmas] season, that will be the challenge for us,” Laguesma said in a radio interview last Wednesday. The latest employment indicators, however, were marred by the rising underemployment rate, which reached 13.8 percent indicating many of the existing jobs in the said period were of poor quality.
