“When I ended up moving here it was really effortless to get my business registered, which was really great,” said Goldfarb, who arrived in August 2021. “I basically decided I was going to ditch my journey to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe and just come up with my own,” she said. “Cookies are typically great when they come out of the oven, but usually by the second or third day it doesn’t taste so great,” she said.

Goldfarb has commercial-grade equipment in her Hammonds Plains home, and Phat Cookies is a home-based one-woman show that was originally meant to be a completely online business.
