Paul and Jacqueline Donnelly have been behind the tills of Donnelly's on the Springfield Road for the last 22 years.

The owners of a popular community store in West Belfast have praised their customers for continued support over the years.

Having gone through a couple of owners, since the mid-60s, Paul first came to the shop as a young teen to help out – and hasn't left since. He told Belfast Live that with the surrounding community, they wouldn't be where they are today."A guy called Dermot worked for him then, and ended up buying it off Phil and opened it as a small supermarket. There was a barbers shop next door and when it closed, Dermot then knocked the wall down and made it into a bigger supermarket.

"Officially, I am here from 1981, but I took over in 2001. We have customers who come in now, who were in when I was a kid. Now their children and grandchildren come in with them. For those who don't know Donnelly's, the shop sells just about everything - they are confectionery, electrical and seasonal.
