A slew of new business cards are about to be printed up as a pair of accounting firms with a big Phoenix presence will be changing brand names after some merger deals.

A pair of acquisitions are set to shake up the Arizona accounting sector, including a deal that will see the Valley's largest locally-owned CPA firm be acquired by the U.S. arm of a global giant.

Steve Milner, managing partner of Baker Tilly's western region, said Friday that the firm looks to grow where its clients are located, and it had been building up business in Arizona. "We'd always held ourselves as fiercely independent for 65 years and were in a great position in a market that was thriving. We really didn't feel like we needed to do something," Goodmiller told the Business Journal."But we really aligned with Baker Tilly, with our vision and the way we treat people. We saw this as an opportunity to take something great and make it greater.

"After we really just started talking we ultimately found that we had shared values, and then we spoke about what we could do together," said Mike Allen, principal in charge of REDW's Phoenix office.
