A Silicon Valley tech CEO with decades of experience is now at the helm of a Valley business. Phoenix

By Phoenix Business Journal staffTeleverde, a Phoenix company that puts incarcerated women to work inside prisons as remote phone sales and marketing representatives for corporate clients, has hired veteran Silicon Valley exec Chris McGugan as its new CEO.

Prior to Oracle, McGugan held various leadership roles during his 30-year career at industry-leading companies including Avaya, Sears, Saffron, Symbol and Cisco. after serving three years leading the business. “Chris is a passionate and proven leader with the vision to expand on the success Televerde has built over the past 27 years. I am confident in his ability to continue guiding our organization to maximize results for our clients, drive innovation, influence our collaborative and inclusive culture, and change lives.”

“I am honored to lead this exceptional organization of creative, enthusiastic, and talented professionals and look forward to building on the great foundation and growth that Televerde has established over the past several years," said McGugan in a statement. “Televerde is a company that is led by a meaningful purpose – to provide 10,000 life-changing opportunities to disempowered communities over the next decade.
