Take a walk down the Woodstock Road and you'll be greeted by a range of innovative businesses all working together and supporting each other, in good times and bad.
Ivor Carberry, who took over the business 25 years ago, told Belfast Live: "We're one of the last true wee hardware shops with a wide range of building and household materials. There's nobody really else like us on any road nowadays or as cheap! "There was another hardware shop here then too and obviously if we didn't have something, we'd send them down there. We'd always look out for each other from a business point of view and try to be accommodating because it doesn't hurt to be helpful and supportive."
He added: "Back during the Troubles people were scared to go into Belfast so they would have come here instead because you could get anything on this road. While Italian cuisine is at the heart of the business, there are some nods to Rachel's Australian heritage too including Anzac biscuits and lamingtons.
They probably just lead with the nazis as clickbait. I'd be very surprised if they didn't know their background
these people are Nazis. Take this down.
oh they are terrible people!
mofitzmaurice think it’s worth taking a look at the comments replying to this post about the couple pictured. I know Fascism wouldn’t be BelfastLive’s preferred brand.
Nazis welcome in East Belfast?who'd have thought... behave yourselves.
It's a big nein from me. Not the best article to be pumping out on remembrance Sunday, BL.
They are neo nazis. Might want to reconsider this whole article. 🤦🏻♀️
Isn't this lad the Nazi lad
These people are Neo-Nazis
How long until this is deleted?
So supports Nazis now?
Hey what’s this?
Very poor research..
You might've wanted to do more than a quick glance at the background of your lead image couple.
No mention of the munch man and the service she’s provided for the community over the years? Wild!
