House Bill 787, filed last week ahead of the legislative session that begins in January, was offered by Republican state Rep. Jared Patterson, who represents a district in the northern Dallas suburbs. Patterson didn’t return a request for comment. In March, Citigroup Inc. said it would cover costs for employees who need to travel out of state to get abortions, and companies including Walmart Inc. and Apple Inc. have put in place similar policies, drawing the ire of lawmakers who see them as an attempt to circumvent Texas law.
After Citigroup announced its abortion assistance policy in March, state Rep. Briscoe Cain said he sent a cease-and-desist letter to Chief Executive Officer Jane Fraser, warning that the bank’s officers and employees could face criminal prosecution unless it backs off its policy in Texas.Could Texas’ new heartbeat law lead to lawsuits against companies providing abortion insurance?
Republicans are the downfall of our country.
I say we eliminate tax breaks for churches forcing their beliefs on non-religious citizens.
DBChirpy Hemmm meddling in business is a no no
So what's the problem?
Abbott's booming corporate relocation will go bust. Once people feel it in the unemployment line, then maybe they'll stay the hell out of doctor/patient relationships.
Can we just eliminate tax breaks for ALL cooperations.
They just want to fu k up people any possible way. The more the better.
