The African National Congress president Cyril Ramaphosa says there is no time frame in which to end the rolling blackouts that Eskom has subjected the country to. Eskom had reduced its rolling blackouts from Stage Five to Four, after escalating them to Stage Six. Ramaphosa is visiting Philippi and Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats as part of the ANC’s Letsema Campaign. The aim of the campaign in the party’s Dullah Omar region is to strengthen the governing party’s connection the grass-root structures. Ramaphosa says several issues are affecting Eskom’s operations.

“We need to repair that broken system and it has been so for quite a long time. Its got many parts to it. Its got skills base to it, its got machines based to it, its got flawed designs of power stations, its got various aspects. And its also got an element of sabotage.where people, either service providers or employees go in and cut wires so that there can breakage of units. so its a combination of all these things we are dealing with.

Meanwhile, some opposition parties in Parliament have called on government to declare a state of disaster in light ofKevin Mileham the Democratic Alliance member of Parliament, who is on the Energy Portfolio Committee, says in the short term if a state of disaster is declared around Eskom and electricity it will free up money for disaster relief and bypass regulations.

Phuma vele uhlulekile doti, kuyimanje ugesi ulokhu uhambe ngo 4 in morning till now awubuyile

Last time he told us loadshedding was going to be a distant memory within 18 months. We see how that worked out. He knows that they have no clue now either, but hasn’t got the balls to say so. So meaningless platitudes, again.

Did he really just try and blame Eskom? FFS CyrilRamaphosa just admit defeat and let the DA take over now please. You are out of your depth

Why is he telling us something that we already know. We know there's no plans to end loadshedding in this country. Its getting worse by the day

Yet he doesn’t want to resign because clearly he doesn’t have solutions to our country’s problems

Let them eat cake.

Let’s be honest this is not only an indictment on the ANC it’s also an indictment on all black South Africans. Can you run your own country or not ? Is it not time to end quotas and BEE ?

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Carl_CE50 What he saying is that they don’t know how to fix the problem as they don’t have money to add generation capacity or expand the transmission network to add private generation capacity.

You are a joke as a president

Well it's not just Eskom who runs it ? Profit from it , hire people that can do the work and that want to work not just looting and sabotage the country.

Lol yah neh 🙆🏾‍♂️. Ramaphosa has really failed to lead…

He doesn't know, he always take the cooked reports given to him seriously, because he doesn't do his own research and consultation before talking to the nation

Basically there's no commitment to end load Shedding. It means he lied in the past and is now us the middle finger

Did he not say that he will fix the electricity crisis? All the time he cut his ' trips short' what was that about?

Firstly loadshedding was going to be ended 18 months from commencement date of Ramaphosa's presidency, then 'sabotage', then breakdowns, then another 18months, now it will never end!!

It is not Eskom that subjected us. It is the whole fucking damn corrupted ruling party that protected that thief against the motions of no confidence in parliament.

So why 2nd term

There is always a way out if they really want to put the lights on. Why are they not considering emergency power supplies as a short measure whilst dealing with Eskom problem? There are so many power generating companies who can provide emergency electricity for the country.

Since he got tied on a wheelchair, He can be honest

South Africa 🇿🇦 - your (ANC) president just publicly announced they broke the country, fuktaap

Ukraine is experiencing severe power black outs due to a war. SA is experiencing power blackouts coz it's voting population keeps looters in power for decades. Severe corruption, not a war

What a creative way to say “I’m also struggling to resolve Eskom issues”

stop calling a non people elected Downing street asset a president

.....until the US Dollars arrive...!!!

Maybe if Eskom stopped letting their employees stay at hotels, give them complete open tabs, and a hired vehicles there would be enough money z

What does time frame mean, that language means nothing now, Ek is moeg van dat taal

That is the song of the year to sing about eskom now is the time to make a right decision on 2024 to vote for the right people

Wow,there we go SouthAfrica LoadsheddingStage6 💔🤬.

No time frame means no idea in hell. No planning it's simple

Of course, we already know that. Why does he even bother saying anything when he knows he is going to do jack sh*t about it

No time frame means no commitment to

WONDERFUL

The country is run by criminals.

That's why ordinary citizens with sober minds are already discussing an alternative party that should govern come 2024. It's not popular

Ok, so we're in for the long haul neh, 🙃🫣

He's been useless thus far, what else is new

He is ryt it will only be fixed wen the company is in the hands of white monopoly capitalists

Some honesty at last

Lies Lies Lies 🤥

😞
