United Airlines started selling tickets this week for nonstops to popular destinations in mainland China from San Francisco International Airport and other U.S. hubs.
The dominant carrier at SFO has been tight-lipped on its plans to resume nonstop service to mainland China, but a review of United’s website Friday shows the following: To Beijing, starting March 24, one daily nonstop from SFO and one from Chicago. Starting March 25, United is offering daily nonstop service to China’s capital city from Washington Dulles and Newark. United did not have any comment Friday regarding its return of nonstop service to mainland China. But the airline has cautioned in the past that schedules can change. Plus, a review of United’s website may not fully capture the scope of United’s return to mainland China.
