Pharmaceutical manufacturers say government’s latest proposed price increase for private sector medicine is too low.

Medicine prices in the private sector are tightly regulated by the health department.

However, pharmaceutical manufacturers are not happy with the latest increase for 2023, suggesting it is too small to cover their costs. The pharmaceutical task group says the 3.2 percent increase put forward by government is half of what it should be.

For them to increase nor create job opportunities they rather increase prices...yooh khaume

If government applies the same logic to its own parastatals then we can understand the government's point of view. Let's task them to apply the same percentage to Eskom's tariff increase.....
