KATHY JOHNSONYARMOUTH, N.S. — Penny Graham from Brier Island, along with Terry Zinck and Bruce Atkinson, both from Clark’s Harbour, will be inducted into the Atlantic Canada Marine Industries Hall of Fame at the Eastern Canadian Fisheries Exposition, being held at the Mariners Centre in Yarmouth on Jan. 20 and 21.
Zinck is being inducted in the Processor Category, which recognizes individuals involved in the business of processing, from line workers to company owners. Zinck has been involved in the fishery and processing sector since the 1980s. He started Xsealent Seafood Company in 2005. Atkinson is being inducted in the Builder Category, which recognizes individuals who have made contributions without having directly participated. Now retired, Atkinson was a third-generation boatbuilder of the famed Cape Island boat, designed by his grandfather, Ephraim Atkinson in 1908.
The Hall of Fame inductee ceremony will be held at the fisheries expo on Jan. 20 between 2 and 3 p.m., says Moira Nordqvist, senior marketing and operations manager for Master Promotions Ltd.
