The only reason to follow these days is this grievance Olympics between deeply insecure people who are desperate after the validation of the Oscars. It's just funny.

“In addition to Chukwu’s snub, the Academy exclusively nominated men for Best Director, ignoring [White women…]” Just couldn’t keep the attention on BLACK WOMEN and misogynoir.

AND Kathryn Bigelow, babe. That makes 3. But totally agree on black female directors.

There are obviously deep-seated multi-generational biases within Academy voters. But it's important to keep it within that context and remember that the Oscars do not represent any kind of wider American societal judgment, they're just Hollywood masturbating to its own selfies.
