Toews responded by telling reporters in Toronto the federal government needs to “bear the lion’s share” of funding that will attract international capital. “We’ve come to the plate, it’s time the federal government comes to the plate. So far, they’ve talked of plans, but we really need to see action,” said Toews, referring to its Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction carbon tax on industrial emitters and investments in carbon capture utilization and storage .
