The East Bay Asian Local Development Corp. has a new CEO.
The Oakland-based nonprofit developer announced this week that Andy Madeira, who had been at the helm of EBALDC for nearly two years, has transitioned out of the role. Sean Sullivan, a former chair of the organization's board, has been appointed acting CEO, effective immediately. EBALDC, which said Thursday it did not know Madeira's next steps, said Sullivan would serve as CEO for three months while it searched for someone to fill the role permanently. The group said in its press release that Madeira had come to the organization at “a very tumultuous time” and thanked him for his leadership.
Madeira, who had previously served as a senior vice president of real estate development at Hayward-based nonprofit Eden Housing, joined EBALDC as CEO in March 2021, replacing longtime Executive Director Joshua Simon, who stepped down from the organization as part of what
