Created by Shepard and Patel, the as-yet untitled project is about the Mental Evaluation Unit of the LAPD, which has a therapist ride with an LAPD officer to answer mental health calls.
The logline: After the officer-involved shooting of a mentally ill man, two women – a skeptical police officer and an idealistic clinician – are forced to work together at the razor’s edge where law enforcement meets mental health and the stakes at home and on the job are life and death. The LAPD’s MEU has been in existence for over four decades to assist patrol officers with mental health-related calls.
Shepard and Patel serve as creators of the project. Shepard excutive produces with Nacelle Company’s Brian Volk-Weiss, Matt Ochacher, and Michael Pelmont. Patel and LAPD Captain Brian Bixler serve as co-executive producers.
Boondocks was right about BET
Will it show all the people they routinely kill?
We’re full up on copaganda, tysm 🫡
ACAB
ACAB includes tv cops
Hard pass, we don't need cops on mental health calls, full stop
The “entertainment” industry in this country continues to demonstrate a disturbing commitment to carrying water for cops. Such a waste. Maybe this will be a unicorn show that doesn’t shovel police propaganda.
Disgusting
DefundThePolice
maybe instead of making a TV show to try to make us feel sorry for them they can just stop murdering everyone they encounter on these mental health calls 🤔
LAPD are fascist murderers. Stop making them out to be heroes
absolutely not. copaganda to distract from the reality cops murder people having a mental health crisis
Copaganda is trash and mist end.
BET what's wrong with you?
Girl what 😳🫢😕
fuck this copaganda
More shows that lie to people about how policing works?
This sucks. LAPD keeps killing people during mental health calls.
