Duran Krummeck had a big dream to play rugby from the age of four and when he finally went to high school, he was extremely disappointed when he didn't make the rugby team.
At just 19 years old, his passion led him to make a huge move to relocate to Northern Ireland where he was intensely trained at night for six months and he states that he ''grew tremendously as a person during those six months". After the great deal of encouragement from his father, Duran took a leap of faith and contacted the Irish Men's National 7s coach, which resulted in Duran progressing to three months of trials and eventually landing a contract with the Ireland Men's 7s Team.
After joining the Currie Cup squad and showcasing his great talents in sports by playing for Swifty Rugby in Dubai where he was spotted and given the opportunity to join the Blitzbok training camp, Duran's passion for the sport started coming back at full speed.
