On Monday, April 3, the provincial government announced more than $138,000 in funding through the Business Development Support Program for two businesses operating in the ocean technology sector — Notus Electronics Limited and SubC Imaging. SaltWire file photoST. JOHN'S, N.L.

It was incorporated in 1992 and has developed and commercialized a unique omnidirectional sonar technology mainly for offshore trawling and netting. Brad Henderson of Notus Electronics Ltd. said the funding will help introduce the trawl positioning system to a worldwide distribution network.SubC Imaging, founded by CEO Chad Collett in 2010, designs and manufactures underwater cameras, systems, LED lighting, lasers, DVRs and remote-operations solutions.
