Elon Musk contends that Twitter can disrupt the media business, but skeptics say he risks alienating a key constituency of the social-media platform

In recent days, Mr. Musk jabbed on Twitter at the New York Times and National Public Radio and weighed in on the accuracy of certain news outlets.

And Twitter began limiting how Substack Inc. integrates with the social-media company after the digital-newsletter platform announced it was preparing a social-media rival.

Piss everyone off there's always another app to go to.

Elon musk is 100% correct on this one to the only thing a media,, is doing a spreading misinformation, lies and propaganda!!

Gee, you think?

You appear to be drifting from journalism.

A key constituency? Oh you mean the users

💯🙂👍

Finally!

Nowadays journalism becomes prostitution.

Disruption of traditional media is inevitable. The attraction to Twitter as media will be the flexibility it will offer to view short format like a tweet or short video through interactive and “pay thru Twitter” media with related services.

If Musk believes in free speech, he needs to provide equal access/treatment. People aren't dumb, they see through NPR and the NYT. I read MSNBC tweets/stories for entertainment! Certainly not for factual content! It's amazing how twisted someone's thought process can be!

Yes his attempts to re elect the orange fascist and have incompetent Marjorie run congress are a bit unpalatable

VERIFIED:Clarence Thomas’s billionaire benefactor collects Hitler artifacts. Including two of his paintings of European cityscapes, a signed copy of Mein Kampf, and assorted Nazi memorabilia,& a garden of statues of the 20th century’s worst despots. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY PARTY?

I will design a logo professional logo and design KIndly contact me for more detail

Just call it what it is and replace “disrupt” with “strategically censor”.

Twitter is the fastest news source

He is and looks like. You are, and it doesn't show.

Absolutely Elon is shaking up the news business. I get more relevant news from twitter than almost all news channels. Then opponents of Twitter ask if you can 'trust' the content.... Please! Ministers of diversion and downright lies continue their Propaganda disguised as news.

So strange visibly WSJ does not understand a lot about information. It seems that you forgot to speak about FBI in Twitter censorship. Wake up WSJ, copying NYT is not increasing your credibility

Those skeptics can only doubt, can't they?

Needless to say Mr Musk has exceeded expectations before,so Americans,as is how we treat all of our fellow compatriots ambitions, but obviously more so with those who have defied expectations already,in the process setting new standards for Americans to aspire to meet & exceed-

I like hearing directly from sources vs editorialized facts for cable news.

Any other GenXer's feel like he is the villain from Saturday morning Hall of Justice cartoons? 🙄

'But skeptics say' = the wallstreet say. He's alienating media institutions already bought off and towing the line. 'It isn't fair he's not obeying his masters! - WSJ

His neck beard is disruptive

elonmusk have you considered free verification for individuals with followers above a certain threshold? At some point it seems in public interest to know if legit, even if they (absurdly) refuse to pay the $8/month.

Should not have messed with verification for revenue. The toothpaste is out of the bottle and twitter going the way of myspace

Done.

Not if he doesn’t let off-platform links, e.g. Substack.

If running it to the ground is considered a disruption, then yea. Let’s do it!

I would buy Twitter stock fosho !!
