The public is welcome to work or hang out inside Church & State with “no strings attached,” said the building manager. The goal is to make the space more accessible.

The former church building is a community space, small-business hub and event venue, where any member of the public can use the Wi-Fi, read on one of the many vintage couches, study, or work.When you walk past the Church & State building in downtown Salt Lake City, signs for a coffee shop and a barbershop beckon you inside. But it used to be harder to tell whether the public was welcome.

It’s also a small-business hub and venue space, with several businesses open to the public throughout the former church’s halls and along the edges of the sanctuary, with events held there regularly. She likes to tell her clients, “I’ll send you home with some good vibrations.”
