The Senate Finance Committee held several hearings on the oil tax bill last week, but it did not advance for a full Senate vote. Anchorage Democratic Sen. Bill Wielechowski, who introduced the bill and has long called for the state to collect more revenue from its resources, said that the measure would be a “reasonable” tax increase.
