Bedrock real estate company -- which owns Cleveland's Tower City -- has recruited some of Northeast Ohio's best black-owned businesses to open in the downtown mall. But it isn't enough to entice them downtown. Bedrock believes in providing guidance and support to make sure the businesses --and the mall -- florishes.

, which owns Tower City. “We are looking to fill every space with businesses that have the potential to experience that kind of fantastic growth,” Russell said.Madison Williams' Feet Geeks store is more than tripling its space in Tower City in less than 24 months. He attributes his success to his own hard work and the support he gets from Bedrock.

Madison Williams is preparing his new store in Tower City. His business has grown so much since moving to the downtown mall, he is tripling the square footage of his store. “I would love to say, ‘It just happened that way,’ but the reality is that we prospect what we see as the very best of Northeast Ohio,” said Russell. “We spend a lot of time looking at who has great potential but doesn’t have a location downtown. We are excited that we have become an incubator to help entrepreneurs really succeed.

Both Allen and Williams took full advantage of the support perks Bedrock offers to its tenants – and learned for themselves how to start a website for their business, and how to effectively market their products.
