RICE retailers at the Agora Market will not be charged their stall rentals for the month of September, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said over the weekend.

Zamora made the announcement during the distribution of the P15,000 financial aid to rice retailers from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.'I talked to the management of the Agora market since this is now. I asked them to give the rice stall owners a break for the September payments and they agreed to not charge them for the month,' Zamora said.The city will also release P5,000 in aid to San Juan rice retailers this week.

total of 48 registered small rice retailers in the city will receive a one-time aid of P15,000 from the national government and P5,000 from the local government.'This will help the rice traders,' the mayor said.The Department of Trade and Industry said earlier that once the supply and price of rice stabilize, the price cap imposed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be lifted.The price cap for regular milled rice is at P41 per kilo, and for well-milled rice, P45 per kilo.
