A Republican-dominated caucus says it's hosting the 'first in-depth public review of the Green New Deal.' The guest list shows a strong bias against the plan.

The Congressional Western Caucus will host a forum on Wednesday that the Republican-dominated group is billing as the"first in-depth public review of the Green New Deal" by Congress. But there is just one hitch: The list of confirmed guests is stacked with prominent climate-change deniers and representatives of industry-linked groups. Republicans have come out forcefully against the Green New Deal, a plan put forward by Rep.

However, comments from caucus members on the group's website suggest they have already made up their minds about the proposal. "The Green New Deal is another climate change, socialist pipedream [sic] that attacks American jobs and our way of life," said Rep. Paul Gosar, Republican of Arizona and chairman of the caucus, which focuses on several issues, including energy, water issues and private property rights.

The Congressional Western Caucus did not immediately return a CNBC request for comment about the guest list. Ocasio-Cortez initially accepted an invitation to attend the event but later said she would be preoccupied monitoring former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's testimony on Capitol Hill. The Congressional Western Caucus says it invited New Consensus and the Sunrise Movement, two of the main backers of the Green New Deal, as well as the Sierra Club and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman.

CNBC bias once again coming through.

Calling someone a climate denier is a stupid.

For a person who wants to tax the rich heavily and believes in fairness for everyone will become a multimillionaire in the next few years. I bet she will not give up any of her money because she will know all the loop holes to keep it.

JoeSquawk Your network is rapidly losing it’s way and is lacking common sense.

And lol at tdichristopher for using 'climate deniers' in an actual headline. Really, they deny climate? Do they believe we live on Mercury? Please do tell.

People actually deny that there is a climate?

Any flat earthers?

I don’t know I think AOC’s constituents would be more excited about Amazon ‘s 25,000 jobs than the Green New Deal. Call me crazy ! 🙄

Excellent, exactly what this joke legislation is worthy of.

Good. If we want nothing but YES men turn on CNN. They are PRO-CHOICE but not when it comes to news, facts, politics, beliefs, viewpoints, tax, etc breaking climatechange

Just read your headline. It is ridiculous. The “Green New Deal” is one extreme. Very extreme. You make it sound credible and then call the other people “Climate deniers” and “Industry Groups”. You are becoming FakeNews

When the planet is burning, they'll all deny their complicity.
