Elon Musk’s social media giant X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature that allows paid users to verify their accounts using government-issued IDs through an Israel-based identity verification company.that in a move it claims will enhance user security and combating impersonation, X/Twitter has rolled out a government ID-based verification system for its paid subscribers.
The company also mentioned that users who undergo this verification process will receive “prioritized support from X Services,” although the specifics of what this entails remain unclear. Critics say the process of ID-based verification seems unnecessary and so far appears to provide little benefit.
