Kimberley Specialised Commercial Crime Court convicted and sentenced Macdonald Peloebuang Gaelejwe , to Fifty Thousand Rand fine or twelve months imprisonment on Wednesday, 20 September 2023 for contravention of Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011.

Between the years 2014 and 2018, Gaeleiwe who is the director of Obontse Trading, Projects CC and Projects CC failed to register the said companies for VAT within 21 business days. The total value of taxable income supplies made by Obontse Trading and Projects CC in a 12 month period exceeded R1 million.

He was given a fine of fifty thousand rand or twelve months imprisonment. Fine payable as follows: two Thousand Rand before or on the 7th of October 2023. Thereafter, two Thousand Rand before or on the 7th of each cumulative month until the fine is fully paid off. Accused not declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The Acting Provincial Head Brigadier Prince Mashimbye is pleased with the investigating team and thanked the members for securing a successful conviction.
