LTFRB 11 issues show cause order vs bus company for child’s deathThe Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board 11 issued a show cause order against the Davao Metro Shuttle Corporation after one of its buses hit and killed a nine-year-old student while crossing a pedestrian lane along Quezon Boulevard in Davao City on Thursday.
“In due process, atoang i-show cause ang bus company ug paingon na sa ilahang opisina ang show cause order kay nakita namo siya nga nag post about sa incident 5:30 in the afternoon. Akoang gi-istorya ang amoang legal officer to show cause the company ug kung makita nato after thorough investigation, klaro man pud kaayo unsay nahitabo, it is but proper to really penalize the corporation/operator,” Llanos told Edge Davao.
The victim was immediately brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival by her attending physician. “Dako kaayo ni nila nga obligasyon ug dili ni nila i-take lightly na incident kay kinabuhi intawon sa inosenteng bata, nagtan-aw ko sa video mura gyud gikumot ang akoang kasing kasing. Definitely we will impose the full force of the law na ipenalize ang operator after thorough investigation and we will also talk to the family,” he said.
