In Joshua Tree, California, a set of structures that look simply otherworldly can be yours for $1.79 million.

In Joshua Tree, itself a famed National Park, a set of structures known as the Bonita Domes has hit the market for $1.79 million.

The SuperAdobe style utilizes stacked sandbags of earth and barbed wire to create buildings, and was inspired by a space habitation assignment Khalili got from NASA in the 1980s. Adds the listing, “This exquisite property will leave you feeling a sense of magic, almost as though you have just been transported to an extraterrestrial planet.”In all, the offering includes 1,339 square feet of living space spread over three main domes. The largest has two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms. A separate, stand-alone dome has two more bedrooms and a studio space — and there’s also a communal bath dome.
