Lupin Lodge, an 88-year-old nudist retreat in the Los Gatos mountains, is for sale as owner Lori Kay Stout looks to retire for the sake of her health.

Lupin Lodge, a historic nudist resort in the Los Gatos mountains, is up for sale, according to owner Lori Kay Stout. The property — which spans roughly 110 acres and includes sun decks, a pool and hot tub, lodging, a restaurant, hiking trails and other amenities — has grown to be too much for Stout to handle, she told SFGATE. “It’s been stressful. I’m really retiring for my health,” she said. The Mercury News first reported the sale.

The pandemic spurred a surge in business, she said, as people were looking for ways to safely connect with nature and their peers. The lodge charges between $25 and $40 for day passes, with discounts given to members of several nudist-oriented groups . Stout plans to keep Lupin open for business as usual until at least the end of the year, she says, and will reevaluate after that, depending on the sales process. She’s working with Christie’s broker Joe Pollifrone on the sale.
