Guilty pleas to two charges were entered on behalf of the company in Kentville provincial court on Oct. 30. Company representatives, including owner Bassam Nahas, 72, of Fergusons Cove, were not present.
The company and Nahas were also each charged with two counts of excavating or otherwise altering a protected site without a permit under the Special Places Protection Act. The demolition was subsequently investigated by the provincial government and the RCMP. Nanco Developments and Nahas were charged in July 2021.Reid House was located to the immediate south of Highway 101 in Avonport and was visible from the highway.
