Also in this week’s Independence Police blotter, a woman is unable to tell police from whom she ‘borrowed’ a stolen vehicle.

Police patrolling a hotel parking lot at 7:36 a.m. Oct. 27 located a car reported stolen out of Canton. The suspect reportedly also had an active warrant out of the Norwalk Police Department. Officers located the woman inside the hotel and she reportedly told them she had rented the car and the rental company told her they would retrieve it, but had not done so. She added that she rented the car in August but had been in contact with the rental company as recently as early October.

Oct. 20. A woman sitting inside a parked car refused to exit the car and said the man she was with was “going crazy.” Police found two crack pipes and open containers of alcohol inside the car and the woman and another female passenger were arrested for drug paraphernalia possession. The man said he had picked both women up earlier in the day and did not know why they were refusing to get out of the car. He was given a warning for the open containers and was released.
