If you own a 2022 Honda Civic, be advised that Honda Cars Philippines has announced a voluntary safety recall covering 1,025 units of this particular model year of its compact sedan.
According to Honda, the worm gear of the electric power steering gearbox in the affected units was either improperly installed or manufactured. If you’ve been hearing an unusual sound when turning the steering wheel, it’s most likely caused by this issue. There have been no reported accidents related to this in the local market, but as a precaution, HCPI will replace the electric power steering gearbox of the affected units.
The carmaker is working to notify owners, but you may also check if your vehicle is affected by logging on to hondaphil.recall and plugging in the 17-digit chassis number or vehicle identification number of your unit. You may also contact your dealership directly, or call the service hotline at 8857-7240.
Honda’s 37 authorized dealers and four service centers across the country will carry out the replacement of the faulty component. See Also CONTINUE READING BELOW ↓ Watch now Read Next Honda HR-V gets a facelift for 2024 View other articles about:
