With Neil Warnock in charge, Aberdeen were in danger of becoming a comedy club. But Connor Barron reckons Peter Leven’s cuddle club might just yet save the last laugh for the Dons.
Warnock may have been more interested in cracking bad gags and deflecting the blame but Leven has taken the time to figure out what this under-performing squad really needs – a bit of TLC. The dismal Dens defeat in midweek was another alarming result but it only served to convince Leven that Aberdeen’s players had forgotten how good they can be on their day.
“Peter’s been brilliant since he came in, he’s been here a while and we all know what he’s like and how he wants to play,” said Barron. “On Wednesday at Dundee, we got a bit stuck in between different managers telling us different things and we maybe weren’t all on the same page. “It’s out of my hands . All I know is Pete’s done a brilliant job since coming in. We’ll leave to the side and to the hierarchy to take care of. We’ll concentrate on doing our work on the pitch.”
